Achy feet, dry mouth, sleepless nights and other things I forgot about the first week of school.

Well. I survived the first two weeks of school. But just barely.
At the end of week one, I was online searching for jobs in alternate fields.
At the end of week two, I was searching for job options that would keep me in education but get me out of the classroom.
By the end of week three maybe I'll be ready to do the job I've actually got.

I don't really want to focus on the negatives, so let's report on the positives shall we?

We are ROCKING Read to Self time. Like seriously rocking it.
This is one of the advantages of moving up a grade level I suppose. We are consistently at over 20 minutes of reading stamina, and actually reached 30 minutes a few times. Here are a few pictures of the kidlets in action:

Another positive is that our chair pockets arrived last week via Donor's Choose!

I'll be back soon with a fun techie giveaway! Stay tuned!

  1. Imagine 3rd grade read to self...and the grades below teach it also! We made it to 20 minutes on our first try! So glad you decided to stick with your job:-) I love 2nd graders!

  2. Yes, these first few weeks have been unusually stressful. I am just now starting to feel we are getting into our routine. I love my individual students, but we've got a long way to go as a class = very chatty and unfocused. But progress is being made. I can't wait to look back on the year - it will be the one that made the most progress!!
